Founded in 2019, Ghostlight Theatre Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to enhancing the Bucks County theatre community by producing high quality musical theatre summer camps, allowing students to fully unlock their vocal, dance and acting potential.
A ghost light is a small, single bulbed light, usually a floor lamp of some sort, that shines on the dark stage throughout the night when the theater is closed and unoccupied. The more logical reason as to why we light this at night is because it’s there in case someone is in the theater working late. It allows them to see where they’re going. Stages have so many hidden places, bumps, and holes. There’s always the orchestra pit that you want to stay clear of or any working equipment if the set is being built and of course the set itself. The light helps to avoid any of these obstacles.
In a more historical sense, the ghost light has many reasons. It is said that every theater has a ghost. The ghost light provides light at night for any spirits to be able to see and even “perform” or dance on the stage.
We wish we could offer all our campers a free camp! The cost of any musical theatre production is extremely high and ranges from paying for show licensing to set design to costumes and accompanists, space rentals, marketing and printing costs and let's not forget sound and lighting!
As a non-profit, we are not running this organization to turn a profit off our camps and our campers. All the camper tuition goes directly back into our program to cover the costs of putting on high quality theatre production!
Tickets for our summer performances are now on sale.
The Drowsy Chaperone is a comedic 1920s era story within a story, narrated by a modern day man who loves theatre.
Set in 1955, All Shook Up features the music of Elvis Presley, and tells the tale of a boy who comes to a small town and changes everything and everyone he meets!
Both shows are sure to be fan favorites!
